Leonardo Spring Tour

Leonardo Spring Tour

The Kolossal Leonardo is back this spring with two dates in two historical Opera Theatres in Abruzzo: the Maria Caniglia Theatre in Sulmona the 12th of April and the Marrucino Theatre in Chieti the 27th of April (one of the 29 Traditional Theatres and one of the 62 Italian Opera Theatres).

With more than 50 people on stage, between dancers, actors and musicians, it has been called a kolossal by many newspapers. They also wrote much about the last two shows:

The mysterious Renaissance, brilliantly pulsing of the beauty of the great artist Leonardo Da Vinci. The stories of the women of his portraits emerge from their eternal stillness, that became immortal thanks to the Genius, revealing their true essence through dance, singing, acting and live music. The look at life, the curiosity, the love for the Nature, the amazement that pushed him to an endless research for the Beautiness which arrives to the present day. (…) Fantastic scenes, hand-painted backdrops and historical costumes presents an intense visual show”.

We also have a short quote about the harp: “Triumphant is the voice of the soprano Fabrizi, often masterfully accompained by the harpist Evangelista” (Angela De Magistris, Il Faro di Roma)

The Dance Troupe is formed by young and talented dancers, whose perfomances on the stage harmonizes together with the singers, the harpist, the flutist, the stilt walker and the actors in many ‘ a solo’ and ‘choral’ perfomances. On the background there is an evocative reinassance landscape, while the scenes follow one another (…). The choral scenes evoke a sort of non-static ‘tableaux vivants‘ of great and engaging charm, so much that the audience feel to be part of a ‘living theatre‘ where a Reinassance court gathering is taking place. It’s a show that engages and that makes you want to come back to see it again and again!” (Donatella Lepore for “Il Faro di Roma“).

And I must say, I’m very happy to be mentioned on informazione.it:

Remarkable is the harpist Chiara Evangelista, a star we should called her, most of all for the performance of the brilliant piece Baroque Flamenco, played during the coreography of the “Studies of a Horse”, where the beautiful Lorenzo Malara (the adult Leonardo) sculpts two horses’ heads”.

We are looking forward of next shows, we are going to land in Rome’s Theatres!
